About Us

Greg DeLory brings a singular blend of skills, training, experience, and taste to the challenge of creating residential design solutions for discerning clients.

As a professional building designer, he has created and overseen more than 160 completed projects in renovation and new-home design around the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

The key to so many successful projects is that he combines an artist's sensibility and training with years of practical experience as a general contractor and in design-build. As a “master builder” in the past, Greg has executed details and procedures that are an integral part of his design work for clients today.

Satisfied clients commend Greg's instinct in targeting the right design approach, his ability to listen and respond to a homeowner's needs, his deep understanding of building industry practices, his skill at sourcing and dealing with contractors, and his facility in navigating complex local building codes and planning departments.

Both his design prowess and his leadership skills have been recognized by the American Institute of Building Design, which has made awards to many of his projects, as well as electing him president of his local chapter and a director of its California Society. AIBD is the national organization of building designers who are authorized by law to practice residential design but who are not necessarily licensed architects. (Why Use a Building Designer?)

A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, Greg earned a master's degree in photography and interdisciplinary studies at UCSF. He taught photography and worked as an architectural photographer while starting out in the building trades. He has continued his studies in architecture at the University of California, Berkeley.
